GRANTS CONSULTANT After 15 years in the legal and corporate world in her native New England and then in Florida, in 1989 Patricia joined the not-for-profit field as a development officer for The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, where she spent five years building their highly successful grant program. In 1994, she joined the Ringling School of Art and Design as Development Director, and built a successful grant program there as well. While at the school, Patricia was responsible for the entire range of development activities, including the annual fund, planned giving, capital campaigns, alumni affairs, major gifts, special events, scholarship programs, and grants, raising several million dollars each year. She also helped develop, implement and successfully complete a $16,500,000 capital campaign for Ringling School. This campaign was capped by a $750,000 KRESGE FOUNDATION CHALLENGE GRANT written by Patricia. In 1998, Patricia launched her own grants consulting firm, serving clients from California to the Caribbean, helping them win grant support in such diverse fields as arts and culture, early childhood development, education, the environment, health and human services, scientific research, historic preservation, women’s programs, and religion. She is an expert in research and has extensive success in both the private and public sectors of philanthropy. When not in the office or working with clients, Patricia and her husband Richard enjoy visiting their children and grandchildren, playing tennis, sailing, hiking and traveling the world. This year they will spend three weeks in England hiking in the Midlands and crewing a canal boat on the River Trent. | |
